And Time Escapes...

Some little updates on the new year of 2012...

Item #1 - New years resolution #2 ("post on blog at least once a week") clearly went down the drain after day one...considering I haven't posted in over two weeks. But I have felt productive in school...so that's a good thing.

Item #2 - AND I've succeeded thus far in my photo a day challenge...check out my Flickr set. *points to sidebar* I don't have all the photos uploaded yet but I have taken a photo everyday. Just bare with me.

Item #3 - The other day I realized that I didn't take pictures of any of the jewelry I made as gifts for Christmas. Don't ask me how that happened...but it did and now the necklace I wanted to show you all is on the west coast.

Item #4 - I GOT LIGHTROOM 3 FOR CHRISTMAS! Which I've been meaning to post about...I feel like a horrible blogger. Oh wait, I am. :P Lightroom post with before and afters coming soooon.

Item #5 - I love life. 2012 has been great so far...haha, only about two and a half weeks in but it's good. ;)

Item #6 - AND A PHOTO! My brother's birthday cake. Pumpkin bundt. Work of my fine hands. :P Delicious if I say so myself. ;)

Item #7 - I just felt like adding a 7th item because 7 is my favorite number. ;) Now you know something new about me! Or maybe not...thanks for reading! That is if you read this far...which I'll assume for the sake of my happiness. :P

P.S. I've been thinking about moving and changing the name of my blog...thoughts? I'll explain more when I decide if I'm doing it or not.

As September Ends

This post really has nothing to do with crafting. But I realized that today is the last day of September. Which means tomorrow is the first day of October. October seems so much more autumn-ish than September. But I got horrible news today, it's supposed to be in the 80s this weekend.

Yes, 80s.

I don't like hot weather...I like 60s and 70s........but 80s are just that weird temperature in between perfect and way to hot (that would be in the 90s...or more). I'm an autumn girl. Give me jean weather. Let me wear a hoodie. And throw leaves. OH! I love the sound of leaves crunching under my feet...happy sigh...

Unfortunately...we're not far enough into autumn for me to have any pictures of dry leaves and brown grass and cute boots (that you can't wear in the winter when it starts snowing because they're not waterproof...) and jackets (that also can't be worn in winter because they're to thin to actually keep you warm so you end up wearing ANOTHER coat over that one).

I <3 Autumn!

My mom is a Indian summer kind of person, so she's loving the weather. I want chilly days! :D

You want to know what I'm really loving? Pinterest. And I'm proud to say that I was a part of it before I heard about it through my bloggy friends! Not that anyone needs to acknowledge my humbleness on this subject. :P But I really do love Pinterest....it's so addicting and amazing.

And since I don't have any autumny pictures due to nothing much autumny yet, here are some of my recent autumn finds on Pinterest.

Pumpkin Cream Cheese Muffins...anything pumpkin screams autumn.

This photo makes me so happy....

Hoodie love! Autumn weather equals hoodie weather.

And cupcakes. Lots and lots of cupcakes. This is my new favorite cupcake recipe. I know cupcakes really have nothing to do with autumn, but I plan on making a lot of cupcakes this autumn...and winter....and spring....hahaha.

I'm so happy it's almost October, it means we'll finally get some real (and consistent) autumny weather! Tomorrow begins one of my favorite months, goodnight all!

Encouraged

I just logged on to see that I have had an average of about 5 page views per day EVERY SINGLE DAY since my last post. You guys have no idea how excited that made me. Then I realized that I haven't been posting...then I felt bad. And now, I'm posting.

This summer has flown by. It consisted of multiple trips to an old amusement park with good friends, a long trip to the northwest to visit various family members, and lots of other stuff including photography. Lots and lots of photography. I haven't been doing much jewelry making. I feel like I go through phases....sewing, jewelry making, crocheting, photography, sewing, photography, jewelry making, photography, crocheting, lots of photography. Can you tell where I'm stuck right now? If you guessed photography, you're right.

However I do have some projects that I need to share...it's just matter of actually getting pictures and editing them. Actually, taking the photos isn't the problem, it's that editing part that I don't get around to with these kind of photos. :P But please keep an eye out for those as I really, really, REALLY want to keep this blog up and running and I know that it's up to me to continue posting for that to happen.

In other news, autumn is upon us...though the temperature sure isn't making it feel like it here. But I'm excited for it none the less. I love the word autumn, so much more mysterious than 'fall'. And guess what I noticed today! There are leaves starting to change color!!! Despite the 80 something degree heat... :P I snapped a few photos, they just need to be edited. I'm actually working on that now, so you should see them later today or sometime tomorrow morning.

In short, thank you to all my loyal readers who continue to check the blog even though I haven't posted for well over a month!

A Busy Crafter Laments

Like the title? Yeah, I felt it was very creative.... :P Haha, anyhoo, what does it mean? It means I've been a *cough* very lazy blogger. *cough* :D That just means that I haven't been blogging much. ;) However, I HAVE been crafting. I've made 3 rosary bracelets, a few pairs a earrings, a GORGEOUS chainmaille bracelet, sketched a bit, worked on my crocheting, and other things that are not coming to mind at this moment. I do love you my dear readers for stopping by and I do hereby pledge to post for you at least once a week...and giving my self that big of a time frame, you can be assured of many more posts than that. ;)

I have many plans for the coming weeks. Including posts for most of the items mentioned above. I just need to get some pictures taken. Also on the agenda is a tutorial. My very first tutorial at that. I have put up a poll in my sidebar where you can vote for which of my projects you would like to have a tutorial for. So go on and vote! The poll will close on Sunday, March 13th at 11:59PM.

Also, I have some other crafting obsessions (hehehe) that I have not yet revealed to you. Those shall be unveiled in the near future as well! And, despite the fact that I hate the results, I plan on showing you a few of my sketches...though, as I have told you before, drawing is not my strong suit. You've been forewarned. :P

On another note, we are still stuck at 14 followers......you know that that can be easily remedied, correct? If you are reading this post and you DO NOT follow, please, all you have to do is click on the little follow button in my sidebar. And if you already follow, tell your friends about me! If you remember, I'm having a giveaway at 15 followers, that means I only need ONE more follower. And I already have the giveaway item ready to go. ;)

And those, my dear readers, are my plans. Please check back often as I am very excited for you to see these upcoming posts. :)

For Lack of a Better Title...

Sorry for the scattered posts! Actually I have a lot planned and I'm working on getting the posts together...but I need to get the projects moving before I can post about them. I'm really excited about each and every one of them! What is that supposed to mean? I'm working on some of my non-jewelry projects! :D Soon you'll know for a fact that I do other crafts. So...this post is likely to just ramble on as I don't have any projects to post about....don't say I didn't warn you.

The other day I jumped into a teach-yourself-to-draw "textbook". If you know me, then you also know that I am  almost a complete failure when it comes to drawing. Sure, I can do some flat things with no dimension, but that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about lovely sketches that you can tell what it is of and be in awe at how real it looks. That is where I go all wrong. I decided that I am going to work through this drawing book in attempt to improve my drawing skills. And you, my dear readers, will get some glimpses of my progress...if there is any progress that it. ;-)

Aside from that I'm working on three main projects. I'm not going to tell you what they are though, only what craft they are. The first is crocheted. It will be my biggest crochet project to date. The second and third are both sewn. One is smaller and one is bigger. And I think that's all I'm going to tell you.  I'd love to see your guesses in the comment box! :)

To conclude this post I have a picture (one of many ;-) I took earlier this week after the snow storm we got. I loved how the sunlight was catching the icicles and just had to capture it.
